Our Story

Welcome to Touch Of Spice

NAMASTE: We bow to you and open the door of hospitality

Columbus would not have discovered America if he hadn't sailed from Europe in search  of spices of India. Touch of Spice makes the Indian cuisine as exotic as the culture of India, flavors as varied as the climate of India. Delicately blended spices add a subtle taste to each dish.

We at Touch of Spice try to make each dish a distinctive refined preparation. Our food is a representation of the many and varied regional cuisines of India and of the many ethnic groups of people in the sub-continent. Our dishes range from Bombay, Delhi, street fare and home style tandoori cooking to the  most sophisticated food of the royal families. We spice everything whether food or drinks ( even masala lassi and masala tea.

Catering is our specialty. Please ask about our low prices. We also deliver!

Indian food offers more benefits than satisfy your appetite

When you think of Indian food, what do you think? Hot, spicy, greasy, fatty, heavy, not good for you? Like a lot of people, you will probably think of something along those lines. You will probably also think delicious, exciting, variety, exotic flavours, a favourite. Whatever image is immediately conjured up when someone mentions Indian cuisine, one thing that is unlikely to cross your mind is that authentic spices used in Indian food are in actual fact important for your health. A little trait that tends to go unnoticed by most and so we thought we would highlight this for all of our customers. We have not just one, but five reason why.

1. Indian food includes perhaps the most dazzling array of fresh vegetables and fruits cooked in a multitude of ways that help retain their freshness and nutrients. A lot of cooking processes tend to cause vegetables and nutrients to lose their health benefits, but not Indian cooking. Thus, Indian food allows you enjoy their health benefits in a more enjoyable way than their original form.

2. Traditional Indian food almost always uses fresh ingredients and involves making dishes from scratch, which means less preservatives and overall healthier food. By cooking Indian food the authentic way you are avoiding prepared meals that do not provide the nutrients you need.

3. Indian cooking uses spices like turmeric, ginger, garlic and green chillies – all of which have medicinal and healing properties. So when people think of Indian food as being spicy, what they are not realising is that the spices used to make the dishes are actually good for the body and don’t just taste nice.

4. Traditional Indian meals include carbohydrates, proteins, fats and fibres, all of which are elements that you need for a balanced diet.

5. Finally, yoghurts are often used in Indian food and foods made from fermented milk keep the digestive tract healthy thanks to the good bacteria that they contain. They are also packed with calcium, which means eating them regularly can help you keep from gaining excess body fat, and it can help prevent developing insulin resistance, which is often a precursor to both diabetes and coronary heart disease.
